I’m Aaron McCann – Co founder of FAB Boxing, and a proud misfit in recovery. For years, I was the kind of person who looked like I had it all together. High-performing jobs, top-tier sales targets, running restaurants that turned over millions – but behind the scenes, I was slowly falling apart. Addiction doesn’t care how polished you look on the outside. Mine came wrapped in suits, smiles, and “I’m grand” lies.
That’s why I started FAB Boxing – Fighting Addiction through Boxing. It’s not just about the sweat and the bag work (although we love a good pad session). It’s about connection, discipline, and rebuilding from the ground up. It’s for people who’ve been to hell and back, or are halfway there and looking for a way out. We’re not here to judge – we’re here to swing.
I run free boxercise sessions twice a week in Dublin for people in recovery – no judgement, no charge, just community and structure.
I offer corporate wellbeing programs: high-energy boxing classes followed by real-talk on addiction, discipline, mental health, and bouncing back from rock bottom.
I speak in schools, events, and communities about resilience, rebuilding, and how to laugh in the face of your demons.
People rebuilding from addiction, trauma, or just life itself
Corporate teams who want more than a mindfulness webinar
Anyone who’s ever felt like the black sheep in a white-collar world
Misfits, messers, comeback kings and queensThis Isn't Just Boxing – It’s Rebuilding with Gloves On. There’s no manual for setting up a recovery boxing class. Myself and Mark (who went from homelessness to hero) have made plenty of mistakes. But every round we run, every laugh we share, every story we tell – it all comes back to one thing:
Helping people fight back. From addiction. From shame. From silence.
If you’re reading this, you probably get it. Or you're trying to.
Either way, welcome to the ring.
My journey into recovery wasn’t quiet, clean, or easy – it was the kind of story most people don’t survive. Years of addiction, homelessness, prison, and chaos. No family to turn to, no system that worked – just me trying to survive with nothing but his fists and a bit of stubborn hope.
And somehow… I did.
Today, I'm proud to be one of the most respected and loved figures in the FAB Boxing community, and as Co- Founder, I show up with consistency, heart, and a no-bullshit attitude that people in recovery need. I'm not here to preach – he’s here to prove that real change is possible when you put the work in, day after day, round after round.
I lead by example – through structure, discipline, and showing up even on the hard days
I connects with people straight away – especially those still deep in addiction or just out of it
I've got a way of cutting through the noise and saying exactly what someone needs to hear.
I'm the first to pick up a glove, carry a bag, or check in when someone disappears for a bit too long
I don't sugercoat anything. I'm living proof that you can come back from anything. I tell it like it is - because I've lived it and because of that, I've earned every bit of respect i get from FAB boxing
I'm Proof that you can go from rock bottom to holding the ropes open for someone else who's still trying to climb out.
Training alongside me, you'll realize:
I'm not here for praise.
I'm here for people.
And when you see me work, you’ll understand why FAB Boxing wouldn’t exist without me.
